Question Stock Tranny

How much HP/TQ can a stock Auto Trans hold before it really starts to slip? Could a Torque COnverter help? What kind whould i need if I just wanted to upgrade the TC only? Would that be enough? I only want to add an intake, 4" straight exhaust, and a Tony Wildman, or a TS chip. Probably with the max setting at 140. I dont want to run the 140 setting all the time, probably only 20% of the time. No drag racing or anything. most of the time I would only have it on the 80hp Econo tune for Drving and some occasional towing.

you would have to rebuild it soon after the install lol..... i would get a triple disck TQ valve body or a transgo shift kit at the very least.... since youll already be doing that you might as well just upgrade the whole thing though.....

Agreed.

It can depend on how you drive. I just drive it like it's stock, unless I see a Cummins with a big exhaust tip.
