Pic of LED Console '99 F350

My LED overhead is not working, so after reading various threads, I pulled the console.

No chips fell out, but one was a little bit loose. But after looking at the LED screen, there was a dark spot on it (see picture).

My question is: Is there a good change that the LED is shot and not worth going and buying a solder gun? I have read where some people tried fixing only to find out the LED screen didn't work.

Thanks for the help/input.

The burn mark is normal. Don't buy a solder gun, you need a iron. A gun is for larger work.

It's an LCD screen.
And the resistors are what come loose. Just resolder them on, and you'll be good.

There is a write up somewhere about what resistors they are if you lost them. But if not, you should be good.

I was able to solder one of the chips that was not fully attached and cure a few others just in case...when I plugged it in it worked.

Thanks for the help.

Any way to reset the mpg or do I need to fill up to have it reset?
