Leveling My 99 F250

I want to level my F250 however don't want to spend the $$ right now for a leveling kit if I don't have to. I work at a machine shop so, I can build shackles to lift the front of the truck up. I have seen a guy on ebay with some to lift the front up 1.5" but I need to go 2.5". Can I lift the front up 2.5" with out having to change anything like shocks or anything else right now and what are anyones thoughts on doing this?

For the 350, you'd have to use a 3 1/2" leveling kit right? 2 1/2" is for the 250's am I correct?
