DRW MPG ?

Just wanted to get a thread going for just drw 7.3s talking about miles per gallon. Thought we could share some info on what is done to our trucks to get the best outta them. I want to limit it to only duallies, I know some nondrw trucks are getting 20 or better but I haven't heard of many drw's getting that.

ok so, ran a half tank using the same tune the entire time (TW's economy tune) and got 16.9 mostly highway running average of 65ish the entire time, driving conservatively upon acceleration. Hand calculated of course, but it was actually right on with my lie-o-meter. I was hoping for better but it is a big truck...

Tire size- 235/85/16
Tire pressure- Front 60psi
rear 50psi
axle ratio- 4.10

Rest of the information is in my sig, but I have still not sent out my chip to be reburned for my turbo, or the t500, not that it will make a difference but wanted to note that. So lemme know what your running and how you compare. Thanks everyone

Straight highway I got 14.5 MPG. 70 mph, 2400 RPM. Around town this winter with a little highway 10-11 MPG. Had a hub stay locked so maybe 12. Current tank is almost all city with a bunch of idle time and running around with the EBPV on. 240 miles with 1/4 tank left. ~9 MPG. I'm really hoping tunes will help.

Tire size - 235/85/16
Axle ratio- 4.30
Mods: Intake and exhaust.

Yeah your gear ratio is killing you! 70 for me is 2200ish, but I usually stick to 65

Yeah, 70 was just getting it home. Knowing I would be up almost 24 hours by the time we got home, I didn't really care. I'm planning on going to 35s to drop the RPMs. 37s would be nice (about the same as stock/3.73/2k@70) but there is a huge price gap and the extra stress on the trans. I had no idea it had 4.30s until after I bought it. I really don't drive that much though, last time it was at a station was in the middle of January.
