Intake recommendations

Hi All, I just installed a new wicked wheel and an edge evolution last week. I was checking out the race program today (nice). When i put the engine back in the truck last week i put in a new drop in filter (its the $96 ford severe duty air filter). But, i noticed today that my air filter plunger checker doo dad was extremely close to the red. It appears that with the new wicked wheel and the edge she is starving for air. I plan on doing the zoodad mod tomorrow which may help a bit but i believe the problem to be the the severe duty air box. Which after market intake do you guys recommend? It needs to flow but more importantly it needs to filter well as i dont feel like pulling this block again for a long time because of dusting. BTW its a 2002 4x4 CCLB.
Thanks,
Mike

i dont know if i really trust the filter minder ( plunger). i have 32680 miles on my truck and it hasnt moved at all. try resetting it and see what happens, is it at all possible that it was close to the red before you put in the new WW, and edge unit?

yeah...what he said. Do it yourself. Save some cash and have a really good filter that will still flow like a champ.

Baldwin PA2818 costs around $38 and it will keep the engine in the truck and let the power out. Here is a pic on mine Shutterfly | Slideshow

I need to find some micron rating, flow specs and other such info on the AFE and the Baldwin/TYMAR. I haven't seen an AFE in person yet but in pictures it sure does look a lot smaller, kinda like the K&N cone type that I have seen and know doesn't filter good. If it is smaller and supposedly flows more air then how does it filter tighter? Either way $40 versus $400 is an easy decision for me as long as I know the engine will be protected at least as good.
