I know Alabamafrog a little bit from another forum, He is a pretty smart cat. I'm sure if hooked up right, this thing works like he says it does. I got mine in the mail from dlonno (thank you sir!) and I'm ready to put it in, but I could use a little better description of how to install it, so that I do it right the first time.
Is it istalled similar to the resistor is in the 10K mod?
Don't let the ends of the diode touch each other?
Are we "tapping" into these lines? Or cutting and splicing? Or just pushing it into the connecter?
I know, they might be dumb questions, but i'm not sure about the best (or right) way to do it
Thanks

i guess that came off wrong .. sorry didnt mean it that way .. i tried switchin diodes incase i got a bad one and it still didnt work then i switched ends figuring maybe the current was goin through it wrong .. didnt help .. if you get it figured out let me know how ya made it work

I have personally put the Zener on two trucks and it worked on both and I have been told it worked on several others. It has to be a 4.7v Zener diode and all it does is freeze the voltage at 4.7 if it goes over that, so if it still defuels due to over boost it must be either hooked up wrong or a bad diode or something strange. It should be spliced into the two map sensor wires without touching each other and without breaking the existing circuit. It should be possible to watch the voltage with either a meter with wires ran to the map sensor or with a predator programmer or other type scan tool in the computer. I wish I had access to a truck with this problem so I could research it better. I wonder if yall are getting over boost faults or if it is something else like exhaust back pressure or something. Are yall getting any trouble codes and are they over boost codes?

Frog, did you solder yours?, cut and spilce? how did you connect to the two wires, i guess that is the only question I have. I'm not checking wether I am throwing a code or not. When I overboost it, my ses light comes on. I goes off when I turn off the truck or drive it normally for 10 minutes. Just want to get rid of the ses light and stop the de-fueling. I haven't hooked mine up yet, so that is why my problem is not fixed. But I don't know which way you attached them, I only want to do it once, that's why I keep asking. I know i'm probably coming off as stupid, but how did you "tap" into the two wires?
Sorry for being repetetive.

I just stripped the insulation back and soldered it on, then taped it up. On my friends we cut the wires and slide heat shrink on then soldered everything back together then slide the heat shrink back up over it. I bet you could push the leads into the plug too. Really shouldn't matter as long and the signal wire gets grounded through the diode. Also I was getting exhaust back pressure codes as well as injector control pressure codes and waste gate codes when flooring it, so it may or may not be the over boost tripping the light.

My diode came in the mail a couple of days ago. Thanks to Dave (dlonno). I installed it and included this pic. If I understood your instructions right, this is what I did. I put my Superchips offroad tune in and so far no codes or engine light. I haven't had a chance to test it properly yet pulling some hills with sustained high boost levels.
