Guage cluster, Pats??

I've got a 02 f250 I bought a few weeks ago. The guage cluster has never worked since I got it. (Moister caroaded the circuit board) Tried cleaning it with 91% rubbing alcohol but still doesn't work. I was wondering if the Pats system runs through the guage cluster also. I seen it has a security on the circuit board. I don't have the chipped key but do have the transponder. Also I've noticed that the security light on the dash never comes on. The truck doesn't start, (will with either, I know bad bad). Is there a way to temporarilly bypass it? (remote start bypass module??) Or could someone tell me when the light should flash and when it should stay off. Also if someone knows since my cluster is probably toast, if the trucks mileage is only stored in the cluster (digital odometer) or is it also stored in the pcm? I know the person who I bought the truck from, (was wrecked) and it only had 28,xxx on it and would like to keep the actual miles it had on it. I'm sure Ford won't change the mileage on a used cluster without verification. Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for any advise.

Super Dutys don't have PATS. The mileage can be checked in the PCM.
