Somebody does make a pillars for the vans, but I put 3 2 5/8 gauges in the dash. I had to remove the upper 12v acc port.

Dp Tuner

Ask away-I have only had this van a few months and am pretty new to diesels myself!

do you know right off hand where I could find the 'a' piller pod, for 3 gauges?

Sent an email to DP tuners.... we'll see what they say. How hard are they to install? Where are they located? Under the dash? Under the hood? Where does this magic little chip go....?

Video - DP-Tuner Install

This is a video on how to install on an f series, the van is similar. On the van I had to remove the bolt that holds the oil fill tube and push it out of the way. Then one 10mm bolt for the harness and 2 10mm bolts for the pcm and you can pull it right out through the front.

Try ITP Diesel, L.L.C. for the a pillar and gauge package.

If you decide you want a 4" exhaust, www.warpspeedperformance.com. Very reasonable, I may get one here soon.

That's strange. If you called and left a message, he will get back to you.

I mocked up a twin air filter setup today. Looks like I can get it under an unmodified hood. I am going to try it tomorrow and see what happens. I will let you know.

I ended up faxing a copy of my email to DP, and got an email from Jody this morning. There were some recomendations, and as money allows, I will be heading in that direction. Gauges, DP tunes, I'd be looking at about $700 for both, it seems I shouldn't get the tunes before the gauges... dang it, I just wanna go faster than a speeding snail.

Gauges first are a good idea. What tunes did he recommend?

Here is what I came up with for a twin filter under the stock hood. A lot of the filter area is isolated from hot air with 20 ga steel. I still need to plumb it back to the turbo, and of course replace the hvac tee with real 4" tubing. Let me know what you think!

Here's Jody's plans for me-go-faster--

"For the E-350 I would go with the F5 chip/switch and get stock, 60hp tow, & 80hp econo"
"For the F-350 I would go with the F5 chip/switch and get stock, 40 or 60hp tow (depend upon tow weight), & 80hp econo"

I think I'd like to add an "insane fast/lots of smoke" 4th setting for the F-350... **grin**

I like the air filer set up you're working on... will you have to fab the "t" yourself, or is there a ready made one availble? What filters do you have? Looks cool, but is it really more surface/filtering area than the orig 2 flat filters? Or is the fact that the filters arn't inside a restrictive housing the advantage? Just looking at the pictures, the filters don't look grossly larger than the orig, (mine has 2 flat type filters, 2x the size of the stock one on my superduty, which was overwhelmed by the size of the WIX 46637 (tymar/DIY) airfilter that replaced it) the two you have seem to only offer about the same square inches of filtering area. However, I do not have both of them infront of me like you do, and you would be a better judge of the compairablity. As time permits, I want to do something like you are with my van... thanks for the pic's.

I am going to have to fab the tee.

If I did the math right, the surface area of a 6637 is 331 sq in. 2 of the Amsoil filters I used is 355. I haven't measured the stock panel filters, but 8X10 maybe? That's 160.
