door ajar light

I have a 2003 f250 with a 7.3. i have the common door ajar light problem. I have had all of the door latches apart and even went as far as to change all of the door switches. Still the door light stays on. I looked for the vsm and there is nothing there, not even the harnesses. i am at a dead end i cant find what controls the dome light. any help will be very apriciated

Try slamming the damn door. It may be your rear door not closing all the way if you have the supercab.
I slammed mine for a few months and it quit staying on.

i tried everything even bypassing all of the switches and still the light stays on. i am thinking it is farther up the line then the door switches

I am officially subscribing to this thread as I am having the same problem.

What I have done, in the meantime, is to remove the fuse from the dome lights, which is a TOTAL band-aid, but it keeps the lights off going down the road.

And I'll keep chasing my gremlins and if I find mine before you do, I'll post here.
But I'll be watchin.

I too have the same problem... I haven't taken the door panels off yet to investigate but will when the weather breaks..

I think it might be the dome light relay that is in the dash cluster. Has anyone ever heard of that

mine was doing is also and i sprayed some jb 80 in the door latches and problem solved

What is vsm?

Sprayed a generous amount in each latch, slammed the doors multiple times, and truck still thinks a door is open. The link to the eBay part is no longer valid. Anyone help?
