Shimming down drive shaft!

Okay guys I have my drive shaft shimmed down with a 1/2" piece of steal..but its still not completely straight looking down it should I go more or leave it alone?

And thinking of changing the carrier bearing how much play should it have?

I'd throw one more shim on and you should be good to go! And possibly a set of traction bars too..

I want traction bars bad!! Just don't really have the funds for the because the ones I have looked at were pretty pricey! But I should go with like 3/4 for a shim

Yea I'd say a 3/4" would be fine. As for traction bars, there's some good looking ones online for $400, but if your handy with a welder, you could build your own. A buddy of mine built some for his truck for around $50 in materials.

Yea man there isn't much I can't weld!! Lol but yea I may look into that I didn't really think of that! But I just want a get of plain single tube style!!

Go to tractor supply and get two top links for a three point hitch. Cut the ends off (heim join and threaded part of tube), weld them to a pipe the length you want and voila, adjustable track bars. Need to make brackets too.
