Starter clanking

Replaced OEM starter with DB starter after it died. Worked great for a week and then started clanking at the starter. Charged the batteries and had them checked. Checked good. Got a replacement starter sent and same problem. Am I missing something here? Cables all look good, and I don't see a starter solenoid anywhere. But if its clanking at the transmission its getting power right? Any help is much appreciated.
