I just flipped mine last week, you will gain a huge amount. Im using my old box that was 13" wide for a addictive audio excruci8 8" sub.. Worked perfectly, i will try to get u some pics..
I dont know how deep or how much space is needed for the mmats 12's but i know 2 kicker comps 12"s will fit fine.

I need to do this, but looking at the brackets, it didn't look like it would work to flip the brackets? Seemed like it would make the seat tilt?

Thinking of doing this to my rig. About how many inches did the seat move forward?

Why dont you just make a box to fit? I took off my seat brackets and drilled the holes 3/4'' foward and had plenty of room to fit my 2 12" behind there. Sub box is still within volume spec too, its on the smaller side of the scale but still sounds awesome!

Ive currently got a smaller sized box in the back with 2 x 12's but it leaves an indentation in the back seat. Kinda sounds muffled with the seat in its normal latched position. Im sure if i could get the seat to go fwd between 1-2", the subs wouldnt sound muffled anymore
