How Accurate is the ECM Tranny Temp?

As the title says I am wondering how accurate the PCM transmission temperature reading is. Not the idiot gauge but what the sensors are telling the PCM?

I wondered the same thing. So I checked the pid with Fords IDS and compared it to my external trans temp guage which is mounted in the test port. The difference is minimal about 11 degrees.
