Oil contamination?
Has anyone out there heard of the engine oil getting contaminated by copper or brass particles from bad injectors on a 2002 7.3 powerstroke. The shop is saying that it is concerned with the particles from the bad injectors ruining the engine and is recomending to replace with a used engine as they have seen this problem one other time, but on a 6.0. This truck is used to pull a smoker on the competitive rib cookoff circuit so it gets a lot of miles put on it. I have never heard of this problem before and we're trying to decide if we need to replace the engine or just go ahead and replace the bad injectors. If there is anyone who might be able to shed some light on this it surely would be appreciated.
