intermittant starting problem
I am having some occasional starting problems. Probably about 1 out of every 25 attempts to crank I will have to get out of the truck and bridge the two posts of the starter solenoid with a wrench and it starts fine. I changed the starter solenoid because I thought that to be the problem, but there is no improvement.
I was wondering if someone might have experienced this before. I am thinking something is not making contact somewhere. Thank you, Digger |

Pull wires off starter n selinioid clean with wire brush .. if that doesn't help its unlikely but possibly. Your key switch.

I have the same problem. I think it's either the key switch or neutral switch. I wound up just putting a push button on the dash that puts 12v to the starter solenoid. Whenever it won't crank I just push that button with the key on and it fires right up. I know that is not fixing the actual problem but it works for me.
