Water in fuel light

o.k. guys need a little help. I have had my truck for about 5 years and have never seen the water in fuel light come on. I recently rebuilt the fuel bowl and now i cant seem to get the dang thing to shut off. I have drained it about 4 times and the light will go off then come back on a few miles down the road. anyone have any suggestions besides just unplugging it.

Check the wiring. Its probably shorted somewhere. Also, they are very sensitive. You may have hurt it. In that case it will need replacing.

But like you said.. You could just unplug it. Mine is.
