Super Duty door speakers
So I've been searching around for new speakers, and it says that the stock speaker size is 6x8. I would like to run 6x9s because the Rockfords I want are 6x9s. I heard somewhere that you can get an adapter to run them, but where would I find these? Or could I just put the 6x9s in without any modifications? Can someone shed some light on this please!

I'm sure with some handy work with a grinder you'll have them in no problem

Yea, that's my last resort. I don't want to start cutting into my new truck lol. But I might just do it if I have to

I cut my door to fit an 8", so have at it, lol.

I tried to go that route too. The fronts I had to go back to a 6x8. There is room to physically trim the door so they fit, but the window track is directly behind the speaker opening. The 6x9s I had were waayyyyy too deep to fit. I suppose you could cut the door panel out so they stick out. I thought that would like ricerish though.
Back doors were able to be trimmed out to fit the 6x9s no problem. I suspect if you have a crew cab, it would be a different story. |

Well I have a CC, so I'm not sure how that will go. I did find a set of Alpine 6x8s I like though, so if the 6x9s don't work out, I can go that route.

I was able to find direct replacement size Pioneer's at the local Radio Shack... aside from the wiring being a little diffrent, they fit right in very easy. Didn't like having to mod the stock wiring. These were for the front doors in the red F250

You need to do something along the lines of this. Especially in a crew cab. The speakers in the back are almost pointless.

That looks badass, but I'm trying to keep it looking stock. Plus my dad would kill me if I cut into my doors lol

I thought it was 5x7 in the doors but I could be mistaken at the moment. But you can go the route I took the first time and bought some loud speakers american bass selineum ect... buy a 6" or 6 1/2" and take one of the factory speakers trace it on a piece of ply wood and make the cut and make a cut in the center to fit the 6" speaker. If I can find my old brackets I will send you a picture so you can have a visual it works great and will be able to put any speaker you like that way. I will be doing it again with my new truck. cuz my last one I ended up fiber glassing the door panels once I wanted more sound then just the 4. But if you go that route I am talking about you will be able to keep that stock look and sound great
