I normally go by my filter minder... I would take it out on the highway and do one or two WOT runs... Then check the filter minder... I also once before winter... I would take mine out tap it many times... You will be surprised at all the fine particles that will fall out... Then I will blow it out with my air compressor regulated to 100lbs and blow it out from the top downward... Then I clean out the entire filter housing...
I just replaced mine at the start of this winter... The previous Filter was in service for 5yrs... This is just the way I do it... Is it the correct way? I don't know... I don't recall ever seeing a service life of this filter... Now I do recall hearing between 50K and 75K miles... whether that be true or not... Maybe other owners of this system will chime in? But Like I said... I go by my filter minder... Last edited by SyN; 02-22-2012 at 01:47 PM. Reason: Shut Your Mouth!!! |

Yeah i taped it and has some fine particles come out but i didn't know if there was any set guideline on how long it should last whether it be mileage based or time.
