7.3 vs 6.0 in a race

Hey everyone loved the site and thanks for having it. Anyways out of curusity how bad will a chipped 6.0 beat me? First thing my truck is a early 99 7.3 250 with tw chip, diy intake, diy boost fooler and stock tire size. I was wonder because my buddies truck I kept right up with it when we race he's got a 07 chevy duramax with superchip and I know there badass and I'm surprise I kept up with it because he usually smokes 7.3s, and I smoked my friends 6.0 bad and he had egr delete with studded and guages and it once had a chip but didn't when we raced because it didn't come with the truck when he bought it, not sure if he has intake sure it does tho. But from conclusion my paticular motor must be a good running one and well maintaned and good tunes from Tony but what will the 6.0 do once he gets chip, will it leave me hanging or just a truck lentgh ahead?

I've heard they leave 7.3's hanging if they are custom tuned.

i have raced a 7.3 on the freeway and left him in a cloud...

Not hating on 7.3s but the truth is they are faster. Just like 6.4s are faster then our 6.0s

We can't complain as all the manufacturers are competing for power every year so it only makes sense. right

ya.. sorry but if it is custom tuned your better off not even running them and save your self the embarassment.... or hope he breaks done... but it sounds like he has most of the problems addressed

The 6.0 is a complete night and day difference between stock tuning and an SCT with a good tune.

I would never try to race anyone in my 05 if I was set to the stock tune.

I can't even stand to drive my truck in the stock setting knowing what it's potential is when it is tuned!!!

I agree. I didn't thing my 6.0 was that slow untill my warranty ran out and modding began. It's not even driveable stock

I have everything in my sig and got beat by .40 to .60s in a quarter, I added my adrenaline hpop and raced a buddys 6.0 the other night and was a heck of a lot closer to him now. I think if I threw stock size tires I could beat one in a qtr mile now. Will see this summer.

a good tuned 6.0 will make 440 horse, it takes a lot more than tunin to make that kind of power out of a 7.3
