Info Plz on EGR delete?

Ive searched this topic found some info on it but not 100% clear. I live in Cali and my 02 does not require a cat. it is currently straight piped. What does the EGR delete do? what are the benefits of doing it? what EGR delete kit would you recommend? thanks in advance!

02s don't have egr. EGR is exhaust gas recirculation it was on the 6.0s and after to meet emissions. The delete for those is more of a reliability thing on those trucks.

oh ok, right on thanks. I knew the egr had to do with emissions!
