OD off switch not working

I bought a 01 F-250 last week and am fixing a few minor issues. The overdrive off switch on the shifter dosent work and i'm not sure where to start looking to get it fixed. i didnt see any blown fuses. is there a spot in the steering column where the wires could break or rub through. thanks for the help.
