my 2000 7.3 towing sucks

idk why but it seems really really weak.... i had double axle trailer yesterday with 1 700cc 4 wheeler probably around 500lbs and 1 yfz 450 around 350lbs and a mini razr around 650lbs and another yfz in the back of my truck another 450lbs... this trailer has a grated ramp which catches some air but its not that.... going up a pretty steep grade with all of them truck slows down down shifts and has trouble climbing it at 60-65mph.... i just unplugged my red waste gate hose today probably pull the commercial lawn mowers and the same trailer this week see if it does any better... i mean it was probably around 5k-8k and it struggles a little is this seem right to yall???

Ours is the same way.
Has trouble with hills with our TT. It sees 4th going up hills.
Once I get to it, it'll have DP-Tuner programming which will help. But it has really bad turbo surge. Which no programming will not help.

Get a wicked wheel or ATS ported housing for surge and i dont really have surge yet maybe after i get php chip... but idk maybe it just needs a chip or a different idm module or idm mod i really dont know but my friends 01 f250 outpulls mine on every angle just frustrates me

A DP chip will make a world of difference all around, whether towing or not.

It's a gamble with the WW. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.
I am not gunna spend $70 on something that *might* help.
And if I'm gunna buy any kind of housing, might as well just get a whole new turbo.

yeah true but most dont have couple thousand just laying around... lol atleast i dont i still cant even get a php chip and they are just 300 haha dang bills

If you pay more than 1100 for a turbo for any of the PSD platforms, you are 1) shooting for the moon 2) got screwed.

Do you have any boost leaks? Cheap place to start at least.

I got the wicked wheel, helped me 100%.

Just pull off your intake spyder, clean it all up and re assemble the CAC boots, youve probably got a boost leak, or an up pipe leak, or a tired truck
