Sound question

I know there's a lot of threads on here about turbo surge but i have not seen the answer to my question or really understood the surge.. I put a cold air intake on my 01 7.3 and when your driving and you get on it and let out it sounds like the turbo is pushing air back out the filter it doesn't do the "ch ch chchchch ch ch" it just huffs does when shifting into over drive to when i am in it a little Thanks to anyone who wants to answer my ignorant question!!

That's normal. When surge happens you'll know it's turbo surge it's usually something you can feel not just hear
