01 PS CPS I need to know everything about it
Hi I'm trying to do something and need to know everthing about a 7.3L camshaft position sensor. 3 wires, 1)cir.# 351 - 90 PCM 2)cir# 795 - 21 PCM and 3)cir# 796 - 65 PCM. What is used for what? Just about all the PCM's functions are not needed, except tach, cruise, and gauge functions? The Fords symbal for the CPS is a square with a H in it, does that stand for "halls", as in halls effect? The 01 Super Duty has recieved an donor heart... with 2 less heartbeats... Thanks, Artie

Anyone, need to know does the PCM send a voltage to the CPS and what does it look for on return? I'll figure it out, sooner or later.... hopefully sooner, Artie

I can't answer your question exactly except to say that I know I have seen the cps mentioned every time a conversion is does ie Cummins swap so it must be pretty important to the overall package. If no one else chimes in I would suggest reading some the threads involving engine swaps and see if you can find your answers.

Ford replaced my CPS under a recall last time I got my oil changed.

Yep, I'm looking at getting a tach signal to my F350 with a Cummins, anyone done it with a dodge ESS or ford CPS?
