tranny shift lever adjustment

I need to know how to adjust my shift lever to get the gears lined up. My shift lever is very sloppy and it doesn't always go into park. I a few time I have jumped out with it running and it starts to take off. Or when I go to start I really have to shift it hard to park for it to start. I know under the dash is a little roll dial that adjust the orange indicatior bar in the dash. that has been broken for years and never really bothered me. I always just counted the posistions and new were it was. Does this have anything to do with the actuall ****ing of the lever? Any help would be great

under neath the steering column, theres two torx head screws that need to be tightened up. they arent super easy to get to, but you can see them with a flashlight. tighten them up and you should see a huge difference. I have had to do that to mine.
