Accessory Fuse for CB Radio
Trying to install a PRO529XL CB Radio.
I've been looking around for a while trying to find which fuse slot it should go in to power the radio but no luck. I would also like your opinion about connecting it to the fuse instead of the battery or if anyone has had problems. Being connected to a accessory fuse it should shut off all power to the Radio when the keys are removed? Appreciate the help! |

What your really wanting to do is tap into the accessory circuit, not the fuse. You can tap into the circuit from a fuse but that creates issues with stretching the fuse socket out. There are two accessory circuits, one for when you turn the key to run (heater/AC blower motor, etc.) and one for when the key is in run or the ACC position (radio, windows, etc.). I don't recall what color the wires are but both can be found under the steering wheel. Just turn the key to the desired position and probe the wires for 12v then turn off the key to verify it's the correct wire.
