Here is a good read

What to look for when buying a USED 99-03 PSD

250K isn't really a big deal for the 7.3 if it's been taken care of. There are a lot of members on hear that are well over that.

It doesn't make sense that a 7.3 wouldn't have a tow package since that's what they're made for so I'm betting it has one.

Personally I would stay away from a V10. They are a good engine but man they inhale gas. My nieghbor has one and averages 9-10 mpg.

My 7.3 makes 12 miles/gal in town. Given diesel is $3.70/gal versus unleaded at $3.10/gal, the fuel mileage advantage is not really an advantage dollar wise.

Fuel economy depends on the truck's setup, condition, and the driver.

I get 15-16mpg in town, 18+highway. I average around 16mpg. Even on winter fuel and with plowing I don't get below 15mpg.

Beats the crap out of my 10-12mpg, (8-10mpg plowing) MAX Ram I had. Definitely cheaper to run per mile.
