what do our factory wheels weigh?
I've seen a few different wheel styles on our rigs, but wondering in general what they weigh? I have an 01' SuperDuty CC Lariat non dually with what appear to be stock aluminum wheels.
I've been looking at a few different sets of moto metal wheels and one of the gentleman I spoke with selling the wheels told me that the particular style I was looking at were right around 29 lbs each, and that they were rated at 3600 lbs., which is supposed to be close to the stock ratings??? I'm looking for a good aftermarket wheel that has nice looks as well as lighter in weight if at all possible. So, any recommendations beyond the moto metal wheels are welcome too. Anybody know if our stock wheels are more than 29 lbs. each? And if so, about how much??? Thanks |

any guesses as to what each factory wheel weighs? Once again, my truck is an 01' Lariat. Our factory aluminum wheels (if truly aluminum) would NOT weigh anywhere as light as 30 to 35 lbs each......would they????

I have a set of stock Aluminum wheels from a 2004 Lariat. Just weighed one a few days ago to see what it would cost to ship it. Bathroom scale reads 17.4 pounds for one wheel.

Thanks for the reply SD2Ca,
What wheel did you use to replace your old stock Lariat wheels with? I'm looking for ideas and suggestions on replacement wheels. I am primarily looking at the Moto Metal wheel in mostly black. I'd like to go with a bigger than stock wheel and tire setup that is about 2-3" taller in overall height......so as to keep the RPM's down a little more on the highway, etc. |

I am still running my stock rims. I happened upon an identical set for a price that was just to good to turn down and was going to use one to replace the steel wheel spare and sell off the other three.....but...........decided it may be better to just resell all four as a set and pick up a single wheel at the wrecking yard some day.
