New Truck!!

i just got a 1999 F350 single cab 4wd. It has a AFE intake, Boost and egt gauges, and magnaflow turbo back exhaust. The Pyrometer is ran in from the top of the downpipe, and the truck seems to run around 500-600 degrees. Is that normal tempetures? Also, it says the truck was made in 01/99. Does that make it an early 99 or a 99.5? thanks for the help guys.

Congrats on the new rig. Sounds like you have a post turbo set up, and that sounds about right for that kinda set up. Just becareful with your temps with your pyro there since it will take longer to heat up...it will also take longer to cool down. Sounds like you got an early build to me. Where does your intake get air from, and what kinda badges does it have? Get some pics of the new rig up when ya get a chance. Once again, congrats.

Awesome!!! Congrats on the new ride! I think the December and earlier makes are "early" 99 models... but if you can tell us about the intake and badges - we'll be able to help you figure it out!

Sorry to hijack for a second but how much of a difference is there? Reason why I ask is because thats where my probe sits as well.

I believe yours is a 99.5. The temps can be 200 or more degrees difference between pre and post turbo. Mine varies in temp from 300 at idle to 1500 when stomped but usually cruises at 70mph around 600 on flat ground. Mine is preturbo which is the only way to go.
