Boost question

So I installed my gauges finally and was wondering if my boost gauge is reading accurately. If I hammer on it I am getting around 16psi. In 5th gear it reads 0-1ish. The truck is bone stock except for the 6637 intake and the cat and muffler removed stock diameter pipe. It is an early 99. Thanks for all the help.

Sounds like the gauge is correct. My e99 had boost leaks @ the intakes

You might have some boost leaks. I can get 15psi doing 70mph going up a good hill. My IC boost are stock.
You won't get boost on flat ground cruising.

15 - 18 stock on the throttle. I'm around 3 - 5 doing 60 and 5 running 70 - 75. Pulling 7k at 70 I run around 10.
