Wheres the chip

I bought a 2001 F350 7.3 , It supposedly has a power chip. It is not pluggeded into the obd2 plug, it is not plugged into the ICP sensor, where else are these chips hiding. I want to find it to see what / if I have, before I can see what I need or what is compatable. I am sure this is an old thread but I haven't found an answer in the FAQ or old postings.

I am new to diesel. My main interest is pulling a 30' 5th wheel and getting better milage when I am not towing.

It most likely is located in the ECM or PCM what ever you want to call it. On my 2002 it is located on the firewall, under the dash on the driverside by the e-brake. I believe it is located in the same spot for the 2001's.

How is it removed or opened. I see two bolts holding the front into the bracket but how is it connected at the firewall end
