weird exhaust

i noticed my tailpipe was angled down towards the ground instead of straight out to the side. looks like it goes into another pipe or maybe a heat shield just in front of the rear end. did i lose a clamp or what. don't know if it is original exhaust or not. also did the 2001 superduties come with a cat converter and muffler or just a muffler? thanks for any ideas.

Check your engine sticker. It'll say if it came with a cat or not. Probably didn't, muffler for sure.
Take a pic of it if you can. The stock exhaust does bend over the rear axle and down before coming to the side so someone might've just hacked it off. There's no clamps back there.
