powerstroke compression tester
I havent been able to find a compression test kit for the 7.3 powerstroke engine and have searched the forums to find out how to get one or make one with no luck. So hope this helps someone. The adapter you need to screw into the glow plug port is a M10x1.0 male metric w/oring X 1/8 female pipe i was lucky that my local COOP had this but i imagine it would b common at a large hydraulic dealer. i then attached a 12 inch long grease gun hose to the female pipe end then attached a 1/8 female to 1/4 male adapter to the other. Then i was able to attach 1/4 air line fitings to it so it would hook up the guage i borrowed from my local mechanic. So without buying a guage i've got about 10 bucks in my home made kit.

if you take all the glow plugs out it will make it easier to test

U don't lose compression with the glow plugs out?

you're only testin one cyclinder at a time and thats the one with the gauge hooked up, the whole point is to relieve the compression to help the engine spin over easier

Ok I don't know why but I had it in my head from all my gasser wrenching the tester was going where the injector is
I just didn't think about it testing compression at the glow plug hole
