buying a new powerstroke need help

im buying a 2000 f-250 7.3 but it has 440k on it what do i need to look for and is this too muck km to think about buying?

Seems high, but with good maintenance records, I wouldn't hesitate.

440km is 273K miles.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy it assuming it all checks out good. I believe there is a sticky somewhere floating around on things to look for when purchasing used.

Sorry but I happen to have the same question. But the truck I am looking at is pretty much at 400k miles for 3300. It's a 99 f250. Is that suicide to get a truck with that many miles? What should I be looking at if I was to go and check it out.

If its 400k. Transmission if it's been rebuilt. If the injectors have been replaced and at what mileage. Try to pick a cold day to go see it and make sure the engine hasn't been started. You want to do a good cold start that will tell you alot.

Injectors, plugs, tranny, and turbo have been replaced. Plugs and injectors 10k ago another rest was 32k ago. New tires also. I jumped in and waited for the plugs and it fired right up. It was about 31 out so not terribly cold. Seems solid from the test drive. Tomorrow I am going to try and take it to get it inspected.

Did u buy it, It sound like a good deal, it's all about maintenance, if took good care of it, and if you do to it will go for at least another 100,000

I didn't buy it no. I am taking it to the dealer to have them do a quick once over on the truck and then if it will at least pass safety then I will jump on it. The miles are all highway, the owner had family in Nebraska so the original owner took it from Utah to Nebraska at least every other week sometimes every week.
