What's the best oil to use in a 7.3. Does it matter? Other than amsoil is there any specific brand better than another? Is schaeffers any good? Curious about others opinions

There are an endless number of opinions. Use the search function and do some research. It's been hashed out many times before.

^^^ millions of opinions, Amsoil, schaeffers..etc all make a good but expensive product. Shell, Mobil and Chevron etc all make a good product too.

Your engine cares less about the brand than it is diesel rated (CI or CJ) and is changed on a regular basis.

Amsoil is over priced IMO. There are a lot of cheaper options that are just as good.

I use whatever we have at work they used to get Dello but now they get Mobil delvac. Thought about trying synthetic but I havnt paid for oil in 8 years so it would be kinda hard to switch. Like said before tho as long as you change it when you should oil is oil. If you live where it is really cold synthetic may be worth it or a lighter weight oil.
