stock boost pressure

i was "playing" with a brand spankin new mustang gt on the hi-way today. he started it. i clicked my chip to 140 and shoveled the coal to it. i wasnt really paying alot of attention to my gauges until i heard the turbo whistile really startin to sing a good song. i looked over and it was almost 27lbs+/-. wtf? then i looked at the speedo. it was almost to the 1 in the shifter. past 100. ???? i thought the stock turbo wouldnt make that much boost. also shouldnt it have set the cel? and, shouldnt it have defueled at about 95 or 100? or does the chip make that stuff not happen? oh, hey kicked my butt.
