What to Look for in Buying Used Diesel
Potential first time diesel owner here. Going to look at a used '01 diesel with just over 100k miles. Any tips about what to look for, questions to ask the previous owner, things to consider if I should buy it or not?
The truck is going to be used mainly for towing horse trailers with anywhere from 0-4 horses a state or two in either direction (from Ohio), and as an occasional second vehicle 2-3 times per month. Any tips are much appreciated! |

BUTT!! If your going to be towing in the over 10,000 lb class be aware the Fords were not rated for over 10K bumper pull until 2002. That's one reason I got a 2002. |

Look for oil pooling in the valley on top of the motor on the 7.3's. That is the high pressure oil pump seals leaking. Not a real big deal kind of common and annoying on the driveway. Just one of many things to look for. My 0.2
