Turbo repair shops or kits

I need to repair a 38r ball bearing turbo for a 2001 7.3---exh side seal is leaking. All the kits I've found are for the stock turbo. Anyone know where to find parts for this? Garrett doesn't list anything on their web site.How abt a good turbo shop that would be cheaper than a replacement turbo!? Thanks!

Everyone seems to say that the 38r's aren't rebuildable, but I would love to know why.

prolly have to call a garrett dealer or a reputable performance shop. the 38r is rebuildable but its just not financially pheasable

I got a quote from a shop here in Hawaii for app. $400 more than a new one!! I think all I need is an exh end seal. I have a turbo now I got from a member here(classifieds---

) and it works really good, but I hate to let this sit around until I get tired of looking at it!!!
