Trans question

Is there any way to tell if my transmission has been replaced or upgraded? Truck has 236k on it so I assume it isn't the original but have no clue. It shifts firmly into 2nd and 4th but I have no others to compare it to. E99, F250, 2WD, 7.3, Automatic

Got mine with about 85,000 on the clock. My trans has a tag on it that says remanufactured. Thats all I know since the previous owner never told me anything about it.

If it's from Ford remaned they probably tag it. Upgraded internally? Maybe from Ford. From anyone else, no way of telling.

Is the trans serial number connected to the vin at all?
