ICP sensor
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up on an issue I had this week. My ICP was leaking so I put one in I got off eBay, I figured I would save myself $100. The o-ring on the ICP started leaking this past Tuesday so I got a new one and replaced it on Wednesday. The truck was at my girlfriend's house so I had to drive it home Wednesday night. Checked it, no leaks whatsoever. Got about 11-12 miles up the road, accelerated kind of hard off a red light, and boom, the truck dies in the middle of the highway. Popped the hood and the ICP sensor blew out of the hole and took the connector with it. I ended up replacing the ICP sensor with one from the dealership and I had to buy the new connector and wire that up. I was advised to replace the IPR as well so I did for precaution.
I'm one of those guys who likes to "skimp" and buy cheaper parts where I can but this is obviously a case of where I shouldn't have. Here's what the threads look like on the cheap eBay sensor and the wires left from the connector: ![]()

Yeah I almost did the same thing but I do not trust alot of people especially on ebay. My thoughts on their ICP sensor is they could clean up a bad one and sell it to you then you are out the money for that part plus shipping then you still need a good one.
My oppinion was I should just buy one that I know is good no matter if it costs extra. |

if you dont mind me asking, what did u pay for the ebay one VS Ford

I have seen them on ebay for as low as 26.00 even though I have never bought one off ebay.
I paid just under 170 at ford with my discount. Alot of the ones on ebay sell adapters because they say they are for other engines. |

170 isnt bad, they retail up here for 305$

I paid like $60 for the eBay one and $138 with my discount from the dealership.

I saw a guy on ebay from Canada that sells factory Ford parts new in the package. His ICP sensors are $89 plus $12 shipping. Anyone gone this route? It appears legit and the picture clearly shows the Ford packaging, etc.(particulary the cheap version knockoffs are a goldish anodized color versus the Ford silver color) And his feedback is good.

I believe I bought my ICP sensor off Ebay. You just have to be really careful, check feedback's, look for sellers with a hundred+ feedback's. Check part numbers, check for factory sealed items, scratches from previous installations, etc. If the price seems too good to be true, there is a reason behind it.
