lower ball joint for alignment?

I was told they could not align my truck today becasue they have to put new lower ball joint in the passenger side.

Does this sound right?

If so, should I also get the upper ball joint also?

I have the solid front axle on my late 99.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Yes, they should do the upper while they are at it too. Only takes a few extra mins. And, they've gotta remove the lower to get at the upper anyways.

Thanks. That is what I thought, but I wasn't sure.

Absolutely. You would be wasting time and money having an alignment done with bad ball joints.

With bad balljoints, as soon as there was any sideload on the tires (like around a corner), the alignment would go out the window.
