ZF6 Swap Question

A buddy of mine wants to put a zf6 in his sd. He found a good deal on everything needed to do the swap. The problem is that it is a 2wd trans. What is needed to make a 2wd trans work on a 4x4 truck?

You can use your transfer case from your auto but you have to change the input in the transfer case cause I believe the ZF has a smaller output shaft but I see if you can pick up a cheap case at a junk yard first might be easier

I knew about the input shaft needing changed on the tcase, but what about the actual transmission? Can we even use it or is the case different on a 2wd?

The case is the same as long as its a 7.3

So if we got a new tailhousing and switched the input on the tcase it would work then?
