coolant additive, how much??

I know to test coolant, but when doing a flush and refill, how many of the little bottles should you start with?

If you refill with Cat EC-1 rated ELC you don't need to.

Mel: are you doing a flush on you 99 or 01?

It should say how much to add on the back of the bottle... My memory is bad, but I thought it was 2 bottles of Ford additive...

If your doing a flush on you 01? Like jes stated above... find a HD ELC and never worry about anything else except the level of the coolant for 300K miles... {Do a search within these forums and you can find many threads on this subject} ELC and a coolant filter is the ideal set up for our diesel pickups...

Your seals within the 99 coolant system will not like the ELC...So stay with the green or Fords Premium Gold...
