egt through the roof! help!

well, got in my truck to drive home from school today and the egt went crazy. no faster that 40 mph 7-10 lbs of boost and the pyrometer was reading 1600 degrees... the truck felt and sounded fine and normal. any input would be great thanks

I'd check your wiring or the probe is shot . make sure the wiring did not contact the ex manifold and short out.

thanks for the suggestion i will do that, that is most likely the problem because the guage was bouncing at one point
