Batteries
I've got a question about some batteries. I'm going to be getting my winch in a few days and think that I'll be needing some new batteries. I haven't ever changed the batteries that were in my truck when I purchased it. I've read alot about the Optima battery. What amperage would I need? Red or Yellow top? 720 for the yellow and 800 for the red? Anything better out there? Are they a good battery or just something that's been hyped up and is worthless? Thanks for the help and info.

I had 2 red top optima's in my old service truck and they were without a doubt the best batteries I ever had. Living in Canada, the winters can get **** cold and I'll tell you, they always started that old 7.3. I've used them to boost heavy equipment, tractors, etc. and they never failed. I'd go to them in a heartbeat.

Everything that I can pull up on em makes em sound great. I need something that will start my truck when it gets around -30* below...(don't know what the conversion to Celcius is.)

The blue top is 1000 CCA. I've had one on my Jeep since 97. Still kicking ten years later. And I have abused it beyond belief with my winch and other stupid things I wont mention. I've even used it to do trailside welding and that's not even the worst its been through.
If you don't mind the price then I doubt they can be beat. They might outlast your truck though.
