Got My 2000 F250
It's home, see my intro will tell you the deal.
Got back yesterday afternoon from the Florida trip. The F250 had a few extra bumps and scratches than the pictures didn't show, but a good solid truck. In looking over the truck, besides the few cosmetic things it had 2 rear tires that were just barely legal in NY and a broken emergency cable (also not legal in NY). I talked them down an extra $300 for repairs to get it through NY inspection. We got to FL at 11:30am, they picked us up at the airport and we were leaving the dealership heading North by 1:30pm. Told them I wanted to be out of FL before we stopped for the night. We stopped 3 miles inside Georgia. Made it to just South of Richmond VA the next day. Total trip, with a few side trips 1480 miles. The Warranty was for 1500 which I turned this morning running around. It ran and drove nice all the way home. Keeping it at close to the speed limit it averaged 22 mpg for the total trip. Best leg was the last one up Rt 15 in PA, where some of it was at 55 mph but with stop and go in the towns, 23.8 mpg, worse was 21.1 in FL and GA where the speed limit was 70 mph. Love the 6 speed transmission and the diesel really pulls nice. I will post pictures shortly. My questions will start as I figure out what is going on. The first one should be simple for you old time diesel owners. I had no problem finding fuel along the way, not that I needed may stops, but one station I stopped at had two pumps. I pulled to the second pump and the nozzle would not fit. Looked at the other pump and it had a regular nozzle. The pump that would not fit was marked Diesel, the other was marked No 2 Diesel for auto use. What's the difference? Jeb |

Well, 1st of all I'll say congrats on the newest member of your family. 2nd, the bigger pump is for commercial sized trucks with big ole fuel tanks. It puts out more fuel. As for the difference in type of fuel...I have no idea what that is all about.

I think that all the diesel is ULSD minus the red offroad stuff....but then again who actually knows, not me that's for sure...I just put the cheapest stuff in as long as it's not dyed.
