I/C intake pipe contacting PS pump???
I've got a '01 F250 7.3. I'm new to diesels, so I'm still figuring out what sounds right (under the hood), and what needs attention. There is a rattle coming from under the hood, and after inspecting, I see at least one spot where it could be originating. It looks like the inter-cooler intake pipe (driver side) is in contact with a line coming off of the PS pump. The previous owner completed the foil delete. Overall, the pipe looks kind of bent up. Does everything look normal? Is this a common looking set-up / configuration? Pics below for clarity:

Totally normal, BUT you do Not want it rubbing there or it will rub a hole through the Aluminum I/C pipe. Loosen the clamps to the I/C itself and twist the hardpipe so it's clear of everything before you retighten it...
You also want to be sure the PS hose isn't rubbing on the shock mount right behind there, it's another common chafe point.

Great - thanks for the info. I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

I hate how they routed that. I blew off a IC pipe after my foil delete (didn't tighten the boot enough and the pipe hit that power steering fitting and took it out. Needles to say, it was a bad trip the rest of the way home without steering and brakes.
