CB mounting

I am going to mourn my CB antennas of of my towing mirrors. My question is will it be better to run a ground to the negative side of the battery, or should I just ground it to a bolt somewhere under the hood? What ground woul be better?

As long as it is a clean metal surface, it should all be the same. I wouldnt go directly to the battery, just to keep it clean looking and less clutter in case you need to put some jumper cables on it.

I am not sure with our mirrors but I know my buddies that run OBS trucks with the antennas on the mirrors have issues when off-roading, it throws the mirrors off. Again more than likely different since the mounting surface and the mirror is separate. I would run the ground to a ground on the frame. As mentioned above there will eb a lot less clutter.

Ground under the hood or even better is strait to the frame. Not to the batteries though.

I hooked mine straight to the battery, less alternator, and other electrical interferance(aka less static) that you would get hooking it up other places.
