2 Drivetrain Questions

Recently bought this '03 and have 2 drivetrain questions:

1. Is the Sterling 10.50 rear axle semi- or full-floating?

2. I have a small clunk when I drive. I can't hear it but I feel it. When I start from a complete stop I can feel a small clunk when the truck first starts to roll. It's as if I was dropping it into drive with the engine slightly revved. It is almost imperceptible when I first start driving in the morning (after letting everything warm up for 5 minutes). The more I drive it and the driveline components and fluids heat up it becomes more noticeable. If I take off slowly from a stop I can definitely feel it, but if I do a moderate takeoff I can't feel it as much. The truck has 144K on the odometer so I was wondering if it could just be some slop due to it's age, maybe there's something loose underneath (I've already shaken everything and it seems good) or I have a tranny problem or possibly worn diff gears?

Ok I can not answer your first question because I don't know. Now the 2nd one sounds like it could be U-joints. You would have to inspect them vissually to be for sure.

Here's a bump for anyone that was interested:

The Sterling 10.50 rear is full-floating.

I also learned that the Dana 60 front monobeam full-floater didn't start until 2002. Prior to that (back to '99 I think) it was a monobeam Dana 50 (unless you had a DRW 350 then you got the 60).
