how do you know what type of tranny you have?
i looked around but i couldnt find an article on how to figure out which type of tranny you have. i have an 03" 7.3 f-350 4x4 crew cab long bed. and i was wondering what i should look for when im trying to id the tranny on it. i know on gas trucks you can tell if the tranny was an E40D but the number of blots on the trans pan, is that the same for diesel trucks? Or is there a number on the side i can cross reference online? i know this sounds foolish but i would rather know for sure than to guess and get it wrong.
Thanks, Jeremy |

so 4r100 is just a newer and updated version right?

Pretty much. They just renamed it

if it is an auto on a diesel it is a 4r100 same as the E4OD just a little stronger for the added power of the diesel
